The No. 18 Florida men's tennis team defeated its highest-ranked opponent of the season as the Gators knocked off No. 5 Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., 5-2.
The victory was UF’s second straight over a top 25 opponent and fourth on the year. The Gators moved to 9-4 on the year and 4-1 in Southeastern Conference play. With the loss, the Rebels slipped to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in the league.
On the women's side, fourth-ranked Florida continued its mastery at home against SEC foes, improving to 142-1 all-time after a 6-1 victory over Ole Miss.
The Gators (11-1, 5-0 SEC) won the doubles point and followed with quick singles victories from Whitney Benik, Julia Cohen and Anastasia Revzina to help Florida win its eighth consecutive match and its 63rd regular-season home match.
