A man who was out on bond after being arrested in December in an online sex offender sting was arrested again Friday by Gainesville police, who say he lured a teenage girl to a SW 13th Street hotel room, where he gave her liquor and had sex with her.

James Gorman Dziedzic, 29, is facing multiple charges in Alachua County after police found him Friday morning at a Gainesville hotel with a 16-year-old Lawtey resident, according to officers.

The arrest was Dziedzic's second in three months on similar charges.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office confirmed deputies had arrested Dziedzic in December as part of a cyber sting aimed at adults using the Internet to meet young victims.

Dziedzic, then listed as a resident of the town of Astor, was released on a $22,000 bond from the Lake County jail the day after his arrest. The case against him still is pending in that county, where he is accused of traveling to meet a minor for illegal sexual conduct, use of the Internet to lure a child and attempted lewd and lascivious battery on a child between 12 and 16 years old, according to the Lake County Clerk of Court.

Lake County officers allege Dziedzic communicated online with a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl. He went to meet the teenager and instead found he had been speaking to a male deputy who was part of the Lake County Sheriff's Office cyber crimes unit, Capt. Todd Luce said.

“This guy won't stop,” Luce said when he heard about the new charges against Dziedzic in Gainesville.

Local police reports list Dziedzic as a Gainesville resident.

GPD Detective Joe Mayo said Dziedzic began chatting with the 16-year-old Bradford County resident online a few weeks ago and planned to meet the girl Thursday when she was supposed to participate in a softball game in Starke.

The girl's family never knew she had been communicating with the man, Mayo said.

Instead of getting ready for the game, the girl met Dziedzic at a convenience store and the pair drove to Gainesville, where they bought liquor and got a hotel room, Mayo said.

The girl's father reported her missing to Starke police, and officers in Bradford County and the surrounding area began searching for her.

A friend of the girl ultimately told officers she was meeting Dziedzic.

Dziedzic is accused in Alachua County of two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, interfering with the custody of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to an arrest report. He was being held without bond at the Alachua County jail Friday.

Mayo said officers are investigating if Dziedzic could be linked to similar cases.

During an interview with officers after his arrest, Mayo said Dziedzic indicated he had been involved in other relationships with "young girls."

“It sounded like he had a preference for young girls,” Mayo said. “He said he meets a lot of the girls he goes out with online.”

Dziedzic's job is listed as a lineman, and Mayo said the man told police he often travels because of his job.

Anyone with information about this or other similar cases involving Dziedzic is asked to contact Mayo at 334-2470.
