Skies should clear for the weekend after a cold front moves through the North Florida area Friday morning, the National Weather Service in Jacksonville reported.

The rain chance for the Gainesville area is at 60 percent with the front predicted to bring showers and possible thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Winds also are expected to increase to 10 to 15 mph, with gusts of 30 mph.

Temperatures should drop into the upper 30s Friday night, but sunny skies are ahead Saturday and Sunday with highs in the 70s.
