Detectives still were looking Friday morning to speak to a man they said was living at a home where a woman was found dead during a house fire.
Officers want to question Robert A. Neville, 54, about a fire at 1875 SW 35th Place Thursday morning, the Alachua County Sheriff's Office reported. Neville lived at the home where the body of a woman was found near the single-story building's front door.
Investigators are awaiting information from the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the identity and cause of death of the woman. But neighbors and others suspect the woman is the home's elderly resident.
Neighbors reported Neville's mother, Jessica Neville, who is in her 80s, had recently moved back into the home. Repairs at the residence had recently been completed.
While investigators have not identified who was discovered in the home, they acknowledged Friday that people have not seen the elderly woman since before the blaze.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (352) 955-1818 or remain anonymous and contact Crime Stoppers at (352) 372-7867. Callers to Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
