Hampton soldier killed in Iraq

HAMPTON, Fla. - A 40-year-old soldier from Florida was killed by an explosive in Baghdad over the weekend, military officials said Tuesday.
Maj. Alan G. Rogers, of Hampton, died Sunday after a bomb exploded while he was on patrol, the Department of Defense said.
Rogers was assigned to the Military Transition Team, 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, based in Fort Riley, Kan.
A phone listing for Rogers' family could not be located.
