Stargazing event set for Saturday

Stargazers can view the stars and planets miles away from city lights on Saturday at Paynes Prairie. Hosted from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday by the Alachua County Astronomy Club, the event will also feature music from Hamhock and Slide, hayrides, a campfire, hot chocolate, smores and more.

The event is planned at Hickory Ranch, 9300 SE County Road 234. Admission is a $5 requested donation. Participants are asked to RSVP by sending the number of people attending to: info@prairiefriends.org.
