Construction is set to start next month on the final two sections of the Rails to Trails project along State Road 100 in Clay County, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The new sections will add 4.7 miles to the existing trail in Keystone Heights. One extends from the Bradford County line to the start of the existing trail at NW Berea Avenue. The second runs from the current trail east from NE Commercial Circle to the Putnam County line.

The trail, expected to be completed this summer, will be located on the abandoned Norfolk-Southern Railroad, according to DOT.
