City Commission candidates will meet on the University of Florida campus to debate student issues Wednesday evening.
Robert Agrusa and Thomas Hawkins, the at-large District 2 candidates, will discuss topics including towing, the city's approach to underage drinking and the homeless along with the impact of the biomass power plant to students and members of the public. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in room 286 at the Reitz Union.
Voting takes place Jan. 29.
"This city election falls on the same date as an exciting primary preference," said Danielle Emenhiser, a UF junior and the UF community political affairs cabinet director. "The student vote could easily sway a City Commission election."
