BOCA RATON, Fla. An 18-year-old man arrested along with five other teenagers in a New Year's Day sexual assault on two young girls was ordered held Friday on $100,000 bond.

William Long Jr., of Boca Raton, was arrested Thursday and booked into the jail on sexual battery charges, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The younger boys ages 13 to 17 were arrested over the past few weeks and have since been released from custody, Miller said.

"All six of the boys charged committed some sexual act on at least one of the girls," he said.

A homeowner called authorities around midnight Jan. 1 after hearing moaning coming from a nearby canal, Miller said. Deputies found the two girls ages 13 and 14 practically unconscious on the canal bank. Miller said all involved, including the girls, had been drinking heavily.

The Associated Press is not naming the other suspects because they are being charged as juveniles. Telephone messages left Friday at Long's home and for his attorney were not immediately returned.
