Rain will give way to sunny skies and colder temperatures this weekend, the National Weather Service in Jacksonville reported.
Mostly cloudy skies are forecast through Saturday when the rain chance is expected to be 60 percent, according to meteorologists.
Dixie and Taylor counties are under a coastal flood advisory early Thursday, which should be in place until 1 p.m. Minor coastal flooding is possible in Levy County, due to a low pressure system expected to cross North Florida this morning, the weather service warned.
Temperatures should remain in the 50s to 70s through most of the week in the Gainesville area. But freezing temperatures were likely Sunday and Monday mornings.
