Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan will deliver the 2008 State of the City Address at noon Thursday in the City Hall Auditorium, 200 E. University Ave.

This is the fourth annual address, a tradition that Hanrahan began to report to citizens the status of Gainesville's city government. Hanrahan will not only discuss the progress made in 2007 but also the future of the city in the years to come.

Refreshments will be served in the lobby beginning at 11:30 a.m. prior to the address, and it will also be aired on Cox Cable Channel 12.

After the speech, the 2007 Citizen's Report will also be released both at the event and in an interactive on-line package that utilizes video clips and links. The report outlines the financial condition of the city government.
