Colder temperatures are in store for the Gainesville area overnight and

Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Jacksonville predicted.

The weather service forecast lows in the low 30s overnight and in the

mid-30s Tuesday night. Wind chill values could drop to 30 Tuesday morning.

A red flag warning also is in effect for most of North Florida Monday due

to the cool, dry conditions. The warning means conditions are favorable for

wildfires.

But the rest of the week should bring typical Florida winter weather with

rain and cooler temperatures predicted.

The rain chance is expected to increase from 30 percent during the day

Wednesday to 80 percent that night. The possibility of rain also is

forecast Thursday with a 40 percent chance.

High temperatures for the week weren't expected to break the mid-60s,

according to the weather service.
