Suwannee crash injures three

Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Suwannee County

Sunday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

A van sideswiped two vehicles on County Road 252, about 12 miles south of

Live Oak, in a crash that occurred at about 4 p.m., according to troopers.

The van's driver, Brendan L. Burke, 34, of McAlpin, was flown to Shands at

the University of Florida with serious injuries. Two people in another

vehicle also had serious injuries and were taken to Shands Live Oak,

officers reported. No injuries were listed for four people riding in a

third vehicle involved in the crash.

Troopers cited Burke for improper change of lane meeting an oncoming


Burke had been headed east on the road when he drove about three feet into

the westbound lane, sideswiping first a truck and then another van,

troopers reported.
