The University of Florida plans to test its emergency text
messaging system Tuesday. All students, faculty and staff with a
cell phone number registered in the university's emergency contact
database should receive the message.
People are instructed not to reply to the message.
UF is the first state institution in Florida to implement an
emergency text messaging alert system in Florida, according to the
university's Web site.
Those who have not registered their information may complete the
form at www.my.ufl.edu.
