Students seeking extended library hours got their wish last semester and may see longer hours in the future.
Staff at Library West saw 85,840 people enter the building from Dec. 1-13, according to the University of Florida Web site. Traffic in the library was highest before the two-day studying break after classes end, which historically operated normal hours.
The library was open from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. after Student Government's Ryan Moseley and Kevin Reilly made requests to Dean of Libraries Judith Russell, according to the Web site.
Information from other campus libraries is being assessed to decide if extended hours should run throughout the school year.
