Oak Hall has announced the hiring of Greg Gillman as its new softball coach. Gillman replaces athletic director Jeff Malloy, who coached the Eagles for seven years.

Gillman, a longtime friend of former Gator baseball coach Pat McMahon, was an assistant coach at Santa Fe High School for six seasons before serving as a Raiders' baseball assistant in 2007.

Among the players Gillman is credited with helping develop is former Santa Fe pitcher Devyn Findley, a multi-time Sun player of the year.

"While I was perfectly content being an assistant coach, I always wondered how I would handle things if I was the head coach," said Gillman, who will remain a teacher at SFHS. "I am excited at the prospect of working in the fastpitch game again and look forward to the continued growth of the Oak Hall program."
