ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Police and rescue officials are at the scene of a fatal skydiving accident in Zephyrhills.

Police spokesman Rob Perrault says a 45-year-old man at Skydive City died after a jump Friday morning near the municipal airport. He has not been identified.

The other 20 jumpers told police the initial jump appeared normal. Perrault says investigators believe the victim was hit by the parachute, knocking him unconscious.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. There were no other injuries.

A woman who answered the phone at Skydive City declined to comment.
