ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A 7-year-old boy was in stable condition Saturday after he was injured in a Christmas parade, according to a hospital official.
Jacob Johns was riding on the St. Johns County Parks & Recreation Department float when his dangling feet got caught in the tires, pulling him down.
The float drove over the boy's abdomen.
He was taken to Shands Jacksonville hospital for treatment.
A nurse and rescue worker who were watching the procession in St. Augustine cared for the boy until crews arrived, The Florida Times-Union reported.
