2 drown in pond near Bradenton

BRADENTON, Fla. - Two men drowned when their sport utility vehicle went into a retention pond in Bradenton. Two women survived but walked away before investigators could talk to them.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the Hyundai SUV hit a post and drove through a fence before ending up in the pond. The vehicle sank in 10 or 12 feet of water.
Responding paramedics found two women in wet clothes walking away from the scene. Troopers are still looking for them.
The victims were identified as 25-year-old Johnnie Schoolfield and 22-year-old Theodore Devon Thomas.
