For most of Friday's game against Jefferson County, it seemed Rodney Scott's birthday party was in the end zone, and he didn't want to leave.
Scott celebrated his birthday, and Dixie County's homecoming, by rushing for 289 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries in a 47-6 victory.
The game gives Scott 908 yards and 12 touchdowns through five games.
A good part of Scott's success this year can be attributed to the Dixie County offensive line. Against Jefferson County, the Bears compiled more than 500 yards of total offense behind the solid group.
The line includes seniors John Corbin, Mike Lews, Nate Carlton and Colton Richardson as well as juniors Klint Wood and Robert Simmons.
The Bears are 3-2 this season.
