Gas prices are projected to remain stable or only move slightly this week,
according to the weekly forecast issued by AAA Auto Club South.
Part of the reason that unleaded regular gasoline is still selling for an
average of about $2.85 a a gallon are crude oil prices, the agency
reported. Crude oil prices ended the trading week at $81.66 a barrel.
Randy Bly, director of community relations for the auto club, also said the
dollar weakened against the euro last week.
"The dollar is the prime currency used to trade oil internationally and a
weak dollar will prop up crude oil prices and thus keep gasoline prices
high," Bly said.
Average regular unleaded gasoline prices in Florida are:
Current $2.846
Week Ago $2.834
Month Ago $2.722
Year Ago $2.384
