Three people were taken to an area hospital after Gainesville Fire Rescue was called to a possible hazardous materials incident at an area store early Wednesday.

Rescuers were called to Fresh Market at 4120 NW 16th Blvd. shortly before 8:30 a.m. Initial reports indicated some people may have felt sick due to an unknown problem at the store.

Gainesville Fire Rescue responded to a report of a possible hazardous materials incident, said GFR spokeswoman Laura Koppel. But, when they arrived, they could not find any indication of a problem at the business although three people were being treated.

No evacuation was ordered, and rescuers left the business at about 8:45 a.m.

Koppel did not immediately have any additional information about the three people who were treated or what had prompted the call.
