A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday after his girlfriend told police he tried to stab and choke her, according to an arrest report.
Robert H. Robinson, 22, was arrested on charges including attempted murder and battery on a law enforcement officer and was being held at the Alachua County jail with no bond Wednesday evening.
Robinson's girlfriend told police she was having sex with Robinson early Wednesday morning when he got angry and began beating and choking her. At one point, the girlfriend told police Robinson got a knife and tried to stab her in the head while she was on the floor. She was able to hold his hand away, so then he took off his belt and threatened to "choke her to death," the report said.
Robinson also fought with the officer who arrested him Wednesday morning, resulting in additional charges.
