Do you know Jesus?

So many people confess that they know Jesus, just like they confess that they know you. But to know a person is to spend time with the individual to learn of them and know their ways.
It is so easy to say out of our mouths, ''Oh, I know her'' or ''I know him,'' and that is only by face and name or because of something someone else has said about the individual and not because you have spent time with the individual. Have you sat with them? Do you know their ways? Do you know their likes and dislikes? Do you know their character? Now that is knowing a person. We shouldn't know man by his flesh, but we should know him by his spirit.f-z Jesus is a spirit and those who worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth. The only way to worship him is to be in the spirit. In Matthew 11:29, Jesus said to take my yoke and learn of me.
He is telling us that we have to learn of him and the only way to do that is to spend time with him in prayer, meditation, Bible study and worship and through the reading of his word.
It will be very beneficial for every person to know Jesus. It's OK to know mother's God and it's OK to know daddy's God, but you have got to know Jesus for yourself.
Have you established a personal relationship with him for yourself? Have you met him early in the wee hours or late in the midnight hour? Have you sat and had a little talk with Jesus?
Romans 10:9-10 says, ''For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God.''
By doing this, Jesus wants us to know that salvation is for everyone.
Knowing Jesus is having that personal relationship with him. In Matthew 16:15-16, Jesus asks his disciples, who do you say I am? Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus then replied, you are blessed, Simon son of John, because my father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.
Again, I say, let God reveal to you who people are and not man. Try the spirit by the spirit. Let the holy ghost tell you who a person is. Sometimes, you can be misled or you can misjudge something someone else has said that's not true. Remember the word of God says in Psalm 105:15, ''Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.''
So, let us try to remember this and keep our mouth off each other. Knowing a person should not be on the basis of rumors, but only on the basis of a personal relationship, spending time with them, and most importantly, letting your information come from the holy ghost.
I encourage you today to step out on faith and come to Jesus. Get to know him for yourself.
We walk and talk with people every day, but do you really know them? The Bible says in 1 John 4:20, ''If a man say, I love God, but hate his brother, he is a liar, for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
So, please, get to know Jesus and your sister and brothers in the Lord.
