As the president of the Alachua County Ministerial Alliance, I am sending out an urgent plea to all churches countywide to help feed those who are less fortunate than us who struggle day to day just for a decent meal.
On Feb. 4, while Super Bowl XLI is underway, the 2007 Souper Bowl of Caring campaign will begin in an effort to provide much needed food to the hungry and homeless of Alachua County.
Please help the many fine organizations, churches and institutions involved by collecting cans of soup and bowls and see that they are delivered following your morning services to agencies that feed the homeless, including the St. Francis House, Bread of the Mighty Food Bank and the Christ United Methodist Church Hunger program.
What you do will mean a lot to our hungry brothers and sisters, and God will richly bless you, so please take a part in this important endeavour.
This great undertaking is sponsored by Santa Fe Community College, the SFCC East Gainesville Initiative, the North Central Florida District of the United Methodist Church, and my organization, all realizing how important this effort is.
If you need more information about "Souper Bowl," Dr. Karen Cole-Smith is waiting to hear from you, and can be reached at (352) 381-3840, or you can e-mail her at Karen.Cole-Smith@sfcc.edu I thank you in advance for your gracious support!

Rev. Milford Lewis Griner,

Gainesville
