The real battlefield

Our leaders tell us not to think about how we got into Iraq, but since we are there, let's escalate! And they ask whether anybody else has a better idea. As in, what could be better than a permanent global war?
Maybe we should think twice about how we got there. Consider for instance: the weapons trade; the drug trade; the money trade; the energy business; "Intelligence"; the faith business; the media, and others. Stop this war, and they are all still here, looking for other opportunities.
These businesses are the real battlefields in our endless war. You can blame Bush or Cheney, but who is entirely innocent? The conflict in Iraq is a sickness that illuminates our mistakes.
