Let the military do its job

There are many parts of Leonard Silva's Jan. 16 letter that make absolutely no sense at all. He states, "Perhaps someone such as Bill Clinton" could have led the war on terror better.
Was it not Clinton who sat by after the first World Trade Center bombing as well as the terrorist attack on the USS Cole? I would much rather have a president with a "cowboy" attitude lead our country in time of crisis than one such as Clinton who was too busy having sex with interns to worry about bringing terrorists to justice.
Silva also states, "If we had used all of our resources" we would have captured bin Laden. He is right; we did not use all of our resources. That is due to the Democrats and liberals of this country who think you should always play nice regardless of whether you are at war or not.
Take the media and liberal politicians out of Iraq and tell the generals to get the job done. War is not nice, fun or pretty but many times it is the recourse we have. If you want it done right then let the military do what it does best - kill the enemy. Military action can defeat the insurgency.
Silva is correct that insurgency is hard to fight, but it is not impossible to win. Remember the Civil War?
We owe the Iraq people, ourselves and the entire world victory in Iraq and the war against terrorism. You cannot expect the head of one man (bin Laden) to win a war. You must annihilate the enemy, defeat his will to fight, and destroy his resources to win. Look at every war ever fought and you will see that the victor in each case succeeded in all three areas.
