Bush team lacks decency

The headline of The Gainesville Sun on Tuesday, Jan. 2 was amazing. "Bush team: Chaos ruined '06 Iraq plan." That's like saying "failure ruined our plans for success," or "stupidity ruined our plan to be intelligent."
To be fair, who would have thought that invading a country and dropping more bombs on it than were dropped by all sides combined in World War II, would cause chaos? Or that dropping cluster bombs and white phosphorous on heavily populated cities, like Falugia, would increase the insurgency? Or, wonder of wonders, how implementing the "Salvadoran Option" and arming one minority over another would cause civil war?
Now that we've had our way with Iraq and there's talk of withdrawal, the "save face" exit strategy by the Bush team is to blame the Iraqis for the chaos and resulting civil war. We did all we could, but they just weren't ready for "democracy." That's like blaming a rape victim instead of the rapist.
I just hope the Bush team's complete lack of decency and compassion will not ruin their plans to be great humanitarians in the Middle East.
