No more tax breaks

As the new year begins and many people are making resolutions, I reflect on our local government, the city and County Commissions. Thinking back on last year, I feel threatened by the enthusiasm our commissioners have had in forgiving taxes to developers.
This would seem to come on the backs of local property owners, since many of them are saddled with increases in taxes. I can't delve into the ethics, financial necessities or even whimsies that have precipitated these decisions, because I don't know enough about the machinations involved. I would just ask our commissioners to come back to the people who elected them and the people who are impacted by their financial whimsies and realize that they are hurting their electorate and giving financial bonuses to outsiders.
