I would like to express my displeasure with the Gainesville Sun's choice to run such an extensive story about Rod Smith in last Sunday's paper. First, he lost the race for governor basically as soon as the polls opened and never was a legitimate candidate for this lofty position. So why is he a front page story?
His picture on page 6A was the second biggest picture in Sunday's paper. Actually, the biggest picture that day was of Muslim terrorist. Makes me wonder about the Gainesville Sun's political views.
Oh yeah, there was an AP story picked up about the true governor of this great state, Jeb Bush. However, this story was only picked up because the story bashed him on his environmental legacy in Florida. My hope is that The Gainesville Sun will run an equally extensive story, by your local reporters, on how Jeb Bush served this great state for eight admirable years.

Randy Monk,

Gainesville
