Booming through the ages

I have a theory and it goes like this. The people driving around town with the music so loud that it can shudder your windows from three blocks away fall into a certain demographic pattern.
They are predominately male and between the ages of 16 to 32. Almost always they are alone or with another male in the same age bracket. Interestingly enough, they cross all races and all socio-economic groups.
It's important to note that something happens in their early 30s. This is where my theory kicks in. When they realize that if they want to have any sort of reasonable relationship with the other sex, they have to make a choice: Boy with boom-boom box or boy with girl.
The basic human drive of lasting companionship usually makes this choice for them. Most of the time they realize their dilemma by the time they are in their mid-20s, but some unfortunate souls don't get it till much later. That is my theory. So, the next time you are stopped at a red light and look over at one of these neoneanderthal types, remember this letter and have a little sympathy.
The saddest thing about their case is that this particular demographic type are also the least type of person to read the editorial page of the local newspaper.
