HOOVER, Ala. — Are you ready for some humidity?
Florida's opening game of this season, traditionally a 6 p.m. start because of the oppressive summer heat, could be moved to 12:30 p.m.
As it stands right now, it's up to the SEC commissioner Mike Slive.
Florida's Sept. 2 game against Southern Miss is one of two games that are being considered for the 12:30 Lincoln Financial slot on opening day.
Lincoln Financial merged with Jefferson Pilot this year.
The other game is Hawaii at Alabama.
Both Florida and Alabama have turned down requests to move their games and expressed concerns to Slive.
He will soon make a decision on which one will have to move.
“I'm not going to make it during Media Days,” Slive said.
