There is a big grin staring back at my computer right now. My Gators did it. They made it to the NCAA Finals. I've been a believer for so long, been teased for my intense-to-the-point-of-ridiculous optimism, and now they've done it. They've proven me right.
I feel such a sense of satisfaction that this team, so discounted early in the season, has vindicated itself on a national stage. At each step in the Gators' journey to this coveted position, I've been so proud of what they've accomplished, regardless of where else it leads. And each time they've upped the anty, doing what I've said all along they would. Once Monday night rolls around, I'll be hoping that they can do it just one more time.
The fact that I'm here for it is just too much to fully soak up right now.
Some thuggish 15-year-olds approached us a moment ago, endlessly fascinated by our mobile workstation.
Boy: "Hey, I want to be one of y'all's boyfriends."
Amy: "We're working, I'm married, we're old," she says. "I don't mean to be rude, but please go away."
Ahhh. It's been a great day.
