Thomas L. Friedman (Feb. 23) writes in his column, "Empty Pockets, Angry Minds" about young Muslims around the world who do not have a chance to succeed in their own society. He might also have mentioned that a small but significant cohort in our own society, Muslim and non-Muslim, are growing up here so alienated from the mainstream that characterizes the successful members of American society that they provide groups that are likely to take various forms of social and economic criminal revenge on the rest of us.
American society must somehow learn to reintegrate such outlier groups back into the mainstream.
