In a Florida recruiting class headlined by offense, the defensive backfield has quietly become one of its strength. Markihe Anderson from Dunbar High School (Fort Meyers, Fla.) is a cornerback who brings good skill and speed to a recently depleted secondary.
Wt: 175 40: 4.45
Position: CB, WR
Projected as: CB, WR
Position Rank: 45
Year: Class of 2006
High School: Dunbar HS
(Fort Myers, FL)
With decent size, at 5-foot-10, 175 pounds, Anderson has very good speed, running a 4.47 second 40-yard dash at Florida Field. With the loss of junior cornerback Demetrice Webb and senior safety Vernell Brown, the Gator secondary needs talented playmakers to step up early in the season. Anderson could be one of those guys to do it.
Anderson comes into Gainesville a very polished defender, and a possible star cover corner. He could also play a big part in the kick and punt return game with his great speed.
Both GatorCountry.com and Rivals.com rank Anderson as one of the top 50 cornerbacks in the nation.
