Switching positions at anytime is a difficult task. Doing it as a freshman at a major university is even tougher.
Wt: 195 40: 4.4
Projected as: WR, QB
Position Rank: 3
Year: Class of 2006
High School: Hillsborough Senior HS
Jarred Fayson, from Hillsborough Senior High School (Tampa, Fla.) will be trying just that.
As a high school quarterback, Fayson was an extremely accomplished rusher, while being very consistent and reliable as a passer.
He will be attempting a change to wide receiver at the University of Florida, where he has verbally committed to.
As a senior at Hillsborough, the 6-foot, 185-pound quarterback threw for 980 yards, eight touchdowns and just three interceptions. He added 1,000 yards and 24 touchdowns rushing while leading Hillsborough.
With a 4.4 40-yard-dash, Fayson will have to rely on his speed and athleticism while making the position switch.
He is not a polished route-runner, to say the least, but will bring his knowledge of the game to Gainesville.
Rivals.com ranks Fayson as the fifth-best athlete in America.
