About 30 Santa Fe Community College employees stand to lose their jobs at the One-Stop Career Center in downtown Gainesville July 1.

SFCC President Jackson Sasser notified the employees, all caseworkers, last week that their contracts will not be renewed or renegotiated at the end of the fiscal year. The college will continue to work with the center, but its focus will be training and education.

Angela Pate, executive director of the Alachua/Bradford Regional Workforce Board, which runs the center, said many of the employees could be rehired once a service provider is found to replace SFCC.
