The front page "Power play" article in the Jan. 23 Gainesville Sun provides a detailed report about the Alachua County School Board and staff efforts to manage the energy costs for the Alachua County school system.
Based upon the information in this article it would appear that The Sun's editorial last week did not fairly reflect the past and continuing projects initiated by the board. This editorial prompted several letters to blasting the incompetence of the School Board members.
It is my opinion that The Sun staff did not do their homework with due diligence before writing the editorial. The Sun should publicly apologize to the School Board members which were castigated in the editorial.
