Bush's replacement would be frightening

In response to Wendy Busk's letter (Nov. 25) demanding impeachment for Bush: While impeaching Bush is a comforting thought, we have to ask ourselves, who would take his place?
Behind Nixon there was Gerald Ford, a fumbler for sure, but reasonably safe. Behind Clinton stood Al Gore, a man of honor and truth. However, behind Bush we have Dick Cheney, the man responsible for most presidential decisions that put us where we are, including the lies leading to war in Iraq, billion-dollar tax breaks to the rich, and Halliburton.
How do you impeach a totally inept president who has an iceberg for a vice president? How ironic, that by compiling the most arrogant, mindless, inept regime in American presidential history, Bush has inadvertently ruled out any chance of his own impeachment.
It is sad that, when America has sunk so low there is nowhere else to go but up, all she has to turn to are the people who drove her to the bottom in the first place.
