Careless drivers will notice if we enforce traffic laws

I have to agree with Frank Petrone (Voice, 8-29). But it is not only on Archer Road that this is happening. Reckless drivers are everywhere.
One of the biggest things that I see is drivers not stopping at a stop sign. Do we not know what a complete stop is anymore? Is it that the more educated we become, the dumber we get?
What we need is uniformed law enforcement officers to ride on the roadways in completely unmarked vehicles. Vehicles that look like our everyday vehicles. If drivers see law enforcement in the areas they will slow down and pay more attention.
That is only short-term. We need long-term improvement. Long-term improvement means writing tickets! No more slap on the hand. We have to enforce the laws!
Alta Brewer, Archer
