The old theater at Verde Plaza is wearing a new coat of paint on the outside, but it remains unchanged inside, and vacant, while the rest of the renovated shopping center is slowly filling with new tenants.
Formerly Wometco Plaza, the shopping center at NW 13th Street and 23rd Avenue has been home to Rex TV and Godfather's Pizza for a number of years.
Also located there are Buddy's Home Furnishings, H & R Block, and O2B Kids Midtown. They will be joined by Great Clips hair salon, which is scheduled to open on March 15, said franchise owner Scott Behuniak. This will Behuniak's third salon in Gainesville. The two others are located at Butler Plaza and Millhopper.
LRS Co. in Jacksonville owns Verde Plaza. The leasing agent is Betsy Whitaker, Asset Management Inc.
