Students host sale

  • Help National Honor Society members at four high schools raise money during a city-wide garage sale.

    Students from Oak Hall and Gainesville, Eastside and Buchholz high schools are sponsoring the sale. It will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at GHS.

    Proceeds from the sale will benefit Peaceful Paths, a domestic abuse network, and tsunami relief efforts.

    Tax help available to senior citizens

  • Tax volunteers with the AARP are waiting on taxpayers.

    Assistance will be available to seniors 60 years of age and older beginning Tuesday through April 15 at the following locations: downtown library, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays and noon-3:30 p.m. Fridays; Bank of America, 2815 NW 13th St., 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; Millhopper library, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays; Tower Road library, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

    Tax help also will be available at the Keystone Heights Senior Center, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and at the Melrose Fire Station, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays.

    Huge sale Saturday

  • More than 20 families will be participating in a huge yard sale to raise funds for the annual patrol trip to Washington, D.C.

    It will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hidden Oak Elementary School cafeteria, 9205 NW 23rd Ave. (off Ft. Clarke Blvd.)
