Kimberly Schatz walked on to the University of Florida gymnastics team as a freshman in 2002 and hasn't stopped pushing herself. Schatz acts as an exhibition gymnast for the team and could see action on vault or floor this season.

Head Coach Rhonda Faehn said Schatz's motivation and dedication to the Gator gymnastics program is something to be admired.

"Kim trains very hard and is extremely dedicated to helping out the team in any way possible, which shows she has a lot of dedication to the whole Gator program and to the team," Faehn said.

"She's been working very hard on floor and vault right now and within the next month or so she might be exhibitioning on vault for us," Faehn said. "She's a very hardworking and motivated senior gymnast."

As a junior, Schatz performed an exhibition vault three times and an exhibition floor routine twice. She was also a member of the Academic All-Southeastern Conference Honor Roll.

In 2003, Schatz matched her collegiate-best vault score of 9.85 and appeared in 12 vault lineups. That score also earned her third place in 2002 in a regular season meet against Auburn.
