The results of the Iraq election will mean little

With the conditions in Iraq steadily deteriorating (far beyond the deaths of 1,300 U.S. soldiers and 100,000 innocent Iraqis) as its election approaches, who in the world will consider the results of the election meaningful?
George W. Bush, for one - the guy who started all this. The Washington Post has suggested that Bush's legacy will depend largely on the success of the election. What constitutes success here? Just doing it, I guess, irrespective of how few Iraqis are not afraid to vote.
A dangerous fantasy world has been foisted on us by a superficial president who intimates that he is "guided by God."
God help us all!
