I would like to wish the citizens of Archer and all Alachua County residents a happy new year! Here's what I would like to see happen in the new year, especially in Archer.
I would like to see more Archer citizens at City Hall on the second and fourth Monday of each month for the commission meetings, where they will be able to participate and help make important decisions.
I would like to see more residents take an active role in participating on boards and committees such as planning and zoning and recreation development.
I would like to see communities come together to combat crime in our neighborhoods. I would like to see pastors from our local churches do more to help the youth and the underprivileged in our communities, and conduct workshops for people with drug addiction.
I would like to see neighbors helping neighbors with cleanup efforts and other projects. I would like to see more citizens coming together for special events.
Last but not least, I would like to be the best public servant in this county looking out for the health, safety and welfare of all the people. Roberta Lopez, Archer city commissioner
