Donations to Save the Children will be addressing families left homeless from the earthquake and tsunami in Asia.
The charity is focusing its aid on nutrition, public health, water and sanitation, shelter and protection needs of children and their families, with an initial focus on Indonesia and coastal areas of Sri Lanka and India.
If you're a teacher or student who would like a school fund-raising kit, you can request one by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Be sure to include the following information: school name, contact person's first and last name, complete street address, phone number and e-mail address. Kits will be sent within 48 hours.
Save the Children's Teacher's Toolkit provides an overview of the tragedy and helpful ways of describing it to children, along with classroom activities to help children focus their questions and concerns about the tsunami disaster and examples of how children can help make a difference.
