An 18-year-old Williston man died Thursday after being shot once in the back of the head on Wednesday afternoon. His death is being investigated as a murder by the Levy County Sheriff's Office.
Jacob H. Langworthy of 15691 E. Levy St., was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m. Thursday at Shands at the University of Florida. Sheriff's spokesman Capt. Chuck Bastak said Langworthy was inside the doublewide mobile home where he had been living when he was shot at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
"We do have a suspect in the case who is in custody on a $150,000 bond for two counts of burglary while armed and one count of burglary, but we will not be releasing his identity until a little further along in this investigation," Bastak said.
A motive for the shooting was not being released late Thursday. Deputies were continuing to interview witnesses and other who may have connections to the crimes.
Langworthy's family said he had been working in the mobile home set up and repair industry before his death.
