Mary Beard Arline

  • Mary Beard Arline of Gainesville died Thursday. She was 82.
    Mrs. Arline was born in Webster and came to this area in the 1930s. She was a homemaker and an avid angler and oil painter who spent much time at Cedar Key. She was a member of Life's Gateway Ministry.
    She is survived by daughter Cheryl Calvert of Gainesville; sister Mamie "Nell" Bass of Gainesville; brother Huey C. Beard Jr. of Gainesville; grandson Jason McRae of Gainesville; and two great-grandchildren.

    George L. Hutchinson Jr.

  • George L. "Hutch" Hutchinson Jr. of Newberry died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 70.
    Mr. Hutchinson was a plumber who was born in Lakeland and came to Newberry 10 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
    He is survived by sons James Hutchinson of Lakeland, and Danny Hutchinson and Michael Hutchinson of Newberry; daughters Elizabeth Donnelly of Lakeland, Rita Baxley of Lakeland and Jacqueline Oliver of Newberry; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

    Geneva Tart

  • Geneva Tart of Micanopy died Saturday at Shands at Alachua General Hospital after a long illness. She was 91.
    Mrs. Tart was born in Merediths and came to Micanopy 49 years ago. She was a Baptist.
    She is survived by caregivers Victor and Cynthia Jackson of Gainesville and many nieces and nephews.

    Emily Louise Trivett

  • Emily Louise Trivett of Waldo died Oct. 6 at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 74.
    Mrs. Trivett was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, and came to the Waldo area 10 years ago from Fort Walton Beach. She was a retired stenographer and a Baptist.
    She is survived by a daughter, Karen Cunkle of Clearwater; son Charles Trivett of Waldo; sisters Lillie Beckett of Texas and Mary Hendricks of California; brother Don Hrazdil of Texas; and two grandchildren.
