Bush audaciously continues to tell us that all is well in Iraq, covering up the mess that he got us into. The quagmire in Iraq is a terrible result of the Bush presidency.
American soldiers and innocent Iraqi citizens are being killed and wounded every day, and we are spending billions of dollars every month, all for virtually nothing. This is a main reason for our anemic economy, poor job market and record-high budget deficit.
The Iraqi situation is out of control, and the U.S. cannot resolve it alone. The only way to end it is to to re-establish our alliance with other influential countries around the world, and deal with it in a united front.
Only if Bush is defeated in November can we form the united front that is needed to end the Iraqi mess, rebuild the U.S. economy and regain the worldwide respect we deserve.
