While Gator fans are all well aware of the success Billy Donovan has created, there is another head coach at the University of Florida who is also doing a tremendous job. That person is women's basketball skipper Carolyn Peck who, in her second season, has taken a team that won only one SEC game a year ago to one that just might make the NCAA Tournament.
As one who watched many games last year, the improvement that has been made by many of the same players is remarkable. The Gators women's team plays disciplined on offense, plays great defense and shows tremendous hustle - they are obviously well-coached.
The Gator fans who have been known to question Athletic Director Jeremy Foley's hirings need look no further than when he brought in Peck. Florida women's hoops is on the right track and is a great thing to watch.
I encourage any Gator fan to come out to the O'Dome and cheer the women's basketball team on.
